"Join me in the drowning"

Films: The Mermaid: Lake of the Dead (2018)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Lake/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: At this point, you've probably come to expect mermaids to be born fishy killers. Well...not quite, this time. Granted, they still kill, but they're more akin to evil spirits.

History: In truth, mermaids are monstrous spirits of people who drowned and seek to take away unsuspecting folk with them into the depths. Lisa Grigorieva was once such mermaid who died centuries ago, and seeks a male victim to bring with her into the abyss. Said man is tempted, but she will soon get much more violent to get what she wants.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Eventually, the man wizens up, and severs the lock of hair from Lisa's form, causing her to lose her power in the mortal realm and be sent back.

Powers/Abilities: Can shapeshift, and appear in any body of water. That, or she can create such a thing.

Weakness: By cutting a lock of hair away, her power is sapped.

Scariness Factor: 3-The idea of having a crazy admirer who's in fact hundreds of years old and a ghost is not a pleasant thought. This thing's persistence is definitely a warning sign. But then of course, a lot of the special effects fail her, especially near the end.

Trivia: -Lisa was played by Sofya Shidlovskaya, whose only other work was a 2016 film called "Good Boy". Hmm...

-This film was directed by Svyatoslav Podgaevskiy, who seems to just love making spiritual horror movies like "The Bride" and "Dark Spell".

Good thing we made that an acid lake.
